Well and Tree Tray From My Grandmother's Kitchen

Post by SandiL »

Thanks so much for providing this forum!

This well and tree tray came out of my grandmother's kitchen. My guess (and that's all it is) is that it might have been a wedding gift - she was married in 1926 in New York City. There is no writing anywhere on the tray; just the four marks shown below. I have looked at pictures/lists/indexes on the internet until my head hurts and my eyes are blurry! Is there a kind soul out there who can translate these hallmarks for me? Thanks in advance for looking!

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

That is a set of maker's marks (not hallmarks I'm afraid) that we've seen several times on the forum, but as yet they remain a mystery as to their origin.

Hopefully your post may prompt a more positive response from another member.

Thank you SO MUCH for letting me know they are not hallmarks. I am all for education, and obviously, silver markings are not in my strong suit! I'm with you.... maybe there is someone who can identify them!
