Maker ID of 19thC ladies sterling buckle with paste/rhine

Post by hkmarshall »

Dear Community,

After much googling and searching of this site, I turn to you. Can you help identify the maker of this ladies silver belt buckle set with paste/rhinestones? It is 2.25 inches tall. The maker's mark reads as WW, WV or VW.

Thank you!
Helen

Hi welcome to the forum.

Although not a 100% match the maker's mark could be for D.C. Bourquin, Port Richmond, New York. Founding date not known. Listed in JC 1904, under sterling and jewelry. Out of business before 1909. Trademark identical to Wortz & Voorhis; listed in JC 1896 in sterling silver section, out of business before 1915.
