Sterling Spoon Makers Mark

Post by jward209 »

I have a set of 6 of the following sterling flatware. I enclosed a picture of a spoon in hopes someone could tell me about the makers mark, it appears to be a box followed by 2 ovals with the letter "H" stamped after it. I looked thru the site and could not find it myself. Any help is much appreciated and Thank You in advance.....Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Go mad and light another candle! :))

I think we'll need a better mark image, but maybe Dominik & Haff?

See: http://www.925-1000.com/ax_D&H.html

I'm still with Dominick & Haff. The 'H' may be a weight indicator (Heavy).

It would be good to read the thoughts of others.

It's Dominick & Haff, their 'Shell' pattern, introduced in 1905.
