No questions seem to have been raised on the Gorham 1057 so far. Here, this bowl (fully marked and with what may have been a sticker) was found with a fitted lid (only marked Sterling). Dated for 1953, and though having a modernistic Asiatic-styled look, I'm going to presume it was a candy dish rather than a fancy steamed rice server. Hopefully this will help establish that the lid is not an unidentified base if found separately. Any additional knowledge of this item is always welcome..I'll bet someone here knows where it has been pictured before.
