KB initials over crossed hammer/mallet, unknown hallmark

Post by taoesque »

I have a set of 3 sterling flatware pieces with Hogan and Wade inscribed with 925. I am unable to identify the hallmark of an oval with KB and what appears to be crossed sword or crossed mallet. The letter K is above the crossed mallets and the letter B is below the crossed mallets. Any hints are appreciated.

Hello,

If you have not yet identified your pieces, even without photos, I am quite sure your pieces are from Krider & Biddle, Philadelphia c1860-1870.

See this page (right side):

How's that for a hint :)

Regards,
Dave
