Sterling Silver Belt Buckle Mark Unknown

Post by GUNWHALE »

I have three belt buckles numbered and marked LLEWELLEN SILVERSMITHS LTD WOODBURY CONN USA and can't find any information on them. Only a llewellyn trade mark. Made in the 1970's. Any help would be appreciated.

There is not much to know about Llewellyn Silversmiths. I recently purchased one of these myself. It is (or was) a Connecticut corporation organized in 1975. As far as I know the only thing they ever produced were 1500 numbered sterling silver belt buckles (Article II, Right to keep and bear arms). They also produced an unknown number of bronze buckles. I was able to find an advertisement that appeared in the August 1976 issue of Field and Stream.
