Need help identifying spoon hallmark - animal anchor letter

Post by slimbert »

Hi,

I've been using this website for a few months now (it's been very helpful), but this is the first time I've had trouble identifying a hallmark.

While the subject line makes it sound like a Gorham item, that doesn't appear to be the case (I checked Gorham patterns just in case,
but did not find any matches). It doesn't match any Gorham hallmark I've seen, and the letter(?) looks closer to a "W" to me.

Does anyone have any info on the maker or pattern?

Spoon is about 5 5/8", 19.1 grams.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi, it is absolutely Gorham, the pattern is called "Swiss", it was introduced in 187o and designed by George Wilkinson

Ah, thank you so much!

I don't know why I got the idea in my head that it wasn't Gorham.
