Easterling

Post by amena »

Today I saw some cutlery bearing the trademark "Easterling".
They also have the sterling mark, but taking them in my hands, they do not look like solid silver at all. Is it possible that they are silverplated despite the sterling mark?

It's sterling - Easterling was a direct marketing firm, they sold silver and china door-to-door rather than through retailers (the majority of their salespeople were women), believe that pattern is 'American Classic', introduced in 1944...

Hi
Thanks for your reassurances.
Those cutlery are so light and sloppy that it was hard for me to believe they were actually solid silver.
