I found this metal detecting at an old sea captains house. I would like to put it in my display case but would also like to attribute it and also date it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is approximately 1/2 inches diameter by 1 3/8 long stamped sterling

I know it is a sterling lipstick holder but who made it and what year ?
