1940's Durham Sterling Silver

Post by adrian1980 »

To whom it may concern,

I have been coming to this site for years looking up hallmarks and wanted to say thanks. I have a Durham sterling silver creamer and sugar set from the 1947 United Van Lines Convention in St. Louis. I noticed there is not much information on the this brand. The hallmark list on this website says this company was around c. 1950's-60's with only two hallmarks. The plate is hallmarked with Sterling and Durham. The creamer and sugar bowls are marked Sterling with a hallmark not pictured on this website. The bowls, I guess, could be from a different manufacturer, but the set is all engraved the same.

Well, I am attaching some photos of what I have and if anyone wants to use this information to update the hallmark list, go for it.

Hi Adrian,

Welcome to the Forum.

Thanks for sharing these images with us.

The creamer and sugar bowls are products of Redlich & Co.

See: https://www.925-1000.com/ax_redlich.html

Now that you've dipped your toe in the water, hopefully we'll hear a lot more from you.

Trev.
