Russian gold brooch with diamonds and pearls, maker's mark?

Hello,

The brooch in 56 (zolotnik) gold in the pictures below;

It is hallmarked on the pin (, which is unfortunately often the case with russian antiques jewelry ). The pin is a relatively small object to be hallmarked on. It is also operated, when the brooch is used as a part of clothing and this increases the risk of the hallmarks to become worn out.
So in the pictures below, I`ve tried my best to take photos of the hallmarks (, I know that the photos could be better. I am considering to buy a camera with a macro objective). I hope still that the photos are good enough to get the picture.

So help with identifying the hallmarks in the pictures below would be appreciated if you please.

Hi,
I think maker`s mark is almost completely obliterated by Austria Hungary Empire import mark for gold with ``AV`` and the eagle.
AV is for "Auslandsverkehr", "aus dem Ausland zum Handelsverkehr eingeführte Waren", which translates as "imported from a foreign country to be traded (within Austria - Hungary).
So, we have only the first letter ``C`` (Latin or Cyrillic ?).
Greek letter in Kokoshnik cannot be deciphered, either.
Hopeless

(Letter P in the mark is for Pest).

It is often assumed silver and gold trade was mostly limited to domestic markets.
Here is nice example of flourishing international trade at the time.
And good proof for authenticity,too; new faked marks are seldom, if ever seen with those import marks.

Hi AG2012,

Thanks a lot for your effort. It really gives an other perspective concerning this dilemma. Makes most sense so far.

Best regards,
