Lübeck silver cup, Germany

Postby silvermistletoe » Tue Feb 07, 2017 2:23 pm

I have got such cup. I believe it is Lübeck, but I cannot define exact period. Is this 17th century or not?
What is Your opinion about the period please?

Hello, judging by style alone I would rather date this to the middle of the 19th century. Regards, Bahner

added the images of the hallmarks, just with the angles. The master mark looks like the ornament...:

It is not 19. or 20. century :-)

There is a little rivet under the handle (in german Nodus). This is typical for old Chalice.
I think it is 17th century. But I can not identify the makersmark on this images.
It is not clear enough.

I use a magnifying glass with the camera to make an image.

Hi,
The node really looks old.
On the other hand, the cup is too perfect for being hammer raised on stake and 400 years old.
But that`s the disadvantage of judging images.
Good luck.
Regards
