Please help identify silver hallmark, maker's mark on snuff box

Post by Gerox »

Hello All,
There is a nice solid snuff box, 800 silver fineness.

I can‘t identify the other brand (town mark or maker's mark),
it looks like three towers on two lines.

Has anybody an idea about dating and origin?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi AG2012,
possible that it is not a city mark and after 1886.
Can you somehow assign the brand?
best regards

Mark is a remnant of a crown which should be preceeded by a crescent (note failed stamp indentation on left side). Almost no two German makers have the exact same crown (they are distinctive): https://www.925-1000.com/Fgerman_marks_a1884.html

Without an actual maker mark, a difficult way to search, but not impossible.
