Tankard with Coins

I would like help identifying this manufacturer. Coins are probably reproductions or restrike of The Guldengroschen which was a large silver coin originally minted in Tirol in 1486. So I suspect is German but someone said it was from Florence. There is an 800 and the letters "AB" in a cartouche. Can't make out the footprint shaped mark, possibly a dog head or boars head but just not sure. Also would there be an 800 and a dog head both indicating 800? Seems redundant. Thanks for help. 22 cm (8") tall

Here is another picture. If you cannot ID the manufacturer or Country of Origin, what do you think about age and quality?

Hi,
The mark on the left is the clue but it`s blurred.
The coin is a restrike (there are official restrikes by Austrian mint and unofficial reproductions).
Both ``800``and coin restrike indicate newer manufacture, the earliest date being late 19th century.
Let`s try to decipher the mark on the left. It`s easier when you know what to search for; try to compare with Austria - Hungary marks. Many objects were marked with ``small item``marks, not Diana`s head as expected (particularly in Hungary).

Thank you. How do you know it is a restrike as opposed to a reproduction? I would be happy to confirm these are restrikes. The (1953) restricts have the restrike date below the Knight's feet. The restrikes have some value.

Hello again,
There is not much difference in value between official restrikes and unofficial repros. Besides, once soldered to the tankard they have no numismatic value whatsoever.
Let`s concentrate on the mark on the left, that`s the clue. Either try to take better close up images of it, or use 10 X loupe to tell us what you see (e.g. letters and number in front and behind of animal head if there is one).
The tankard is well made with nice chasing and embossing.

Thanks I went on the Braganti website and they certainly have many beautiful objects http://www.braganti.it/
I think that this is their current hallmark, but I have emailed them to see if they used "AB" in the past or if they recognize the hallmark on my tankard

So the tankard is probably not AB Braganti. Additionally the tankard looks older to me.

Hi,

Let's wait and see if Braganti reply to your email. At least we will know whether to discount them or not.

hello ebbs1939
I do not know if the tankard is made in Italy or not, but in the case, such as 800 in an oval may suggest, it would certainly be made after 1970

Thank you. A couple of questions - on the Italy page of this website - it shows 800 in an oval for 1944-1968 . Also not sure what is says in the footprint shaped mark but I am going to get a loupe - on your little graphic overlaid onto the photo - did you taper it or are there marks which were tapered like that?

The oval 800 is still in force, although the oval form prescribed is a bit 'different from that prescribed until 1968.

It must be said that not all the goldsmiths adopted very soon the new shape.
No, there are no marks that taper as that shown, I assumed that it could be a deformation.
