I think this is German? It’s marked IFS 10L (10 loth) and dated 1863. It has a scallop top and pin pricked initials KOJ on the front. As usual any help would be great.
Thanks, Matt

Bumping this to see if anyone has any ideas?
Re: German spoon?
The spoon is Danish. The full answer is in this link's end:

Re: German spoon?
Many thanks but my spoon is dated 1863 and you mentioned that he died in 1824? Not sure if the date was wrong for the working period?
Re: German spoon?
Good point! Didn't notice the year. The mark IFS matches the mark in my source book and the fineness 10L tells that it must be Danish. One explanation is that the business continued after the masters death or that it is the wrong IFS. The problem with Danish marks is that only about 50% of all marks are known/registered. Therefore there is still a lot of unnamed marks. Sorry cannot do any better...Let's hope hose from Denmark drops in and have a better suggestion.
