Who is the maker?

Post by niceguy1 »

HI

Who is this maker of this large salad tongs? Also it has a golden brass color toning, does that mean it’s gold plated? It’s quite dirty & needs a clean but I don’t want to damage if it’s gold plated.

THANKS

though the gothic S in the middle is not clear, I think it is the mark of Otto Schneider, Berlin.

HI

I thought of that possibility but the mark here is some sort of animal & the cartouche is different too.

I am rather sure that it is Schneider, because I already rather often saw this mark with the worn S. The cartouch is not different. Besides there is no other possibility.

Hi,
Silverfan is right. It`s Otto Schneider, Berlin.
Your mark is on top, Compare every detail. Even the crown is almost the same.
What looks like an animal is actually worn out mark resembling contours of e.g. a rabbit (the eye, ear etc) but nothing like that. Just worn out letters.
