Mysterious Maker's Mark

Post by rockettgirl1 »

We inherited these sterling ice cream spoons. I have little experience with silver. I am unable to identify the maker's mark. I have been searching for weeks. Hopefully you will be able to point me in the right direction. I appreciate your help in advance! Thanks!

Hi ~ welcome to theforums.

This appears to be a known variant of the Simpson, Hall, Miller/International Silver 'knight-head' trademark. It is almost always helpful to post images of the entire item as well as the marks - in this case, dating and manufacturer could be confirmed by pattern or style...

That's International's 'Milford' pattern, introduced in 1913 - though a lovely design, it wasn't a particularly popular pattern, so not common to see these days...
