Re: annaberg or altenburg?
But Rosenberg3 was not sure. He said - it is a guess of Gurlitt - it could be also Annaberg.wolfgang wrote:It's Altenburg according to Rosenberg vol. 1

He said - Lehfeldt means - Altenburg had 3 towers.
Now - I have two marks - one with the Altenburg (A) Mark - and a Makers Mark CFH or CEH
A second Mark with a G - looks like the Altenburg mark - with a G instead of an A - and nearly the same makers-mark.
it is also the Altenburg mark?
The makersmark is in Rosenberg3 Nr.66 (but there is no name - "a spoon with inscription 1708" )

Yes Jakjo - you are right. But how about my last Altenburg - Question?JAKJO wrote:Hi Theoderich,
The fifth mark looks like Breslau (Wroclaw).
Hope this helps,
Best regards/JAKJO
it seems to be the same maker - and the townmarks are similar - only the A und G are different and the crown. Time could be about 1770-90.

Re:
The answer ist Weißenfels in Sachsen-Anhalt (Saxoni Anhalt).Theoderich wrote:This is a good question - and who is the Name of the Maker?Solpar wrote:Amme lists G for Gotha, Rosenberg A für Altenburg. Same maker in both cities?
When he had worked?
The Maker is probably Christian Ferdinand Hofmann, (master 1813 in Weißenfels).
Weißenfels was a part of Kursachsen and after the "Wiener Kongress" - it was a part of pruzzia.
In this time the Sword-mark was replaced. The letters in this Mark could bei A;G;K;...
