Heart shaped platter with BLOCK 1791 .95

Post by tkgroves »

Hi, I have this platter with four hallmarks that is stamped 95%. One hallmark says BLOCK with an outline of a woman holding the scales of justice dated 1791. I cannot find any information on this hallmark. Does anyone know what it is? Thanks

This looks like a pewter mark to me with 95% signifying the tin content of the alloy.

Hi,
Blockzinn in German indicates no lead in the alloy. It`s not worthless.

Crossed keys were used on pewter in Lauban (Luban, now in Poland), The Electorate of Saxony (German: Kurfuerstentum Sachsen).
