update for rogers AA

Post by jcm »

I just received an email from Onieda ( the one who owns wm rogers.they said the folowing

"I have searched all our
silverplate archives and was unable to locate this pattern. Judging by the
backstamp "Rogers AA", I do not believe this is Oneida's. We did carry the
backstamps "Wm A Rogers" and "1881 Rogers" but in searching the archives
further, I was unable to find any information on your backstamp "Rogers
AA".

These forks may be a product of the International (aka Towle) Silversmiths
Company as they carried backstamps with the name Rogers as well"

Any idea about international silversmiths, I know of a international silver not silversmiths. and anybody have a place on the web that shows the old patterns?
thanks

The answer to this old question can be found in contributor's notes here: http://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic ... 38&t=47908

Rogers AA was apparently used for Simeon L. & George H. Rogers wares at least during the early years after Oneida had taken over the name. It is shown as a Montgomery Ward line of dubious quality at that time (1939).
