Unkown Marks Gold Brooch
Hi Guys.
Need some help. Been searching for these marks everywhere but no luck. The M is almost an m but it also has a vertical line going through it with a flick on each end,
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Unkown Marks Gold Brooch
Thanks for the reply Trev. Is there any research where I could see the marks for 1977. We were told this was from the 1800s.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Thanks Trev. Is it common practice to mark items even though they weren't manufactured/made at that time then? Lets say someone bought it in France for example why would it be marked for Dublin?
Thanks again

If you don't mind Trev let me know what you think of the front of the jewellery. If we have been mis sold we will have to go back to the seller. Really appreciate any help

Hi, for what’s worth my opinion,
To me it looks like a modern copy of a miniature painting/pendant in a gold frame. The import date could confirm our suspicion.
For comparison:
The painting is signed by the artist.
Authentic antique miniature painting/pendant, in a gold frame, a Google search will reveal average price class. The 925-1000 forum does not perform appraisals, see the forum rules.

It would be a legal requirement in Ireland that if the item was offered for sale as 18ct gold, then it must be assayed and hallmarked, otherwise it can only be described as yellow metal.

Thanks for the information. I wasn't interested in an evaluation just clarification for origin and information from the hallmark. Thank you for your help.
