Byron

Hi Byron,

No it has no identifying marks at all and it seems to be a mix of several types of crosses. If it had some marks I would have had some clue where to start looking but I'm afraid there aren't any.

Thanks though,

Nina

No it is a byzantine cross.
I Denmark we have a famous cross found in 1683 in the grave of a queen that died in beginning 1200. The cross was from year 1000

(it is in danish)

The byzantine cross is still manufactured and it is often used af a gifth when little girs are babtised. My daughter received on in 1981 from her grand mother.

Now your cross is not the exact match but it is in the same category (I thinl).

This might give a better image - still in danish this one with "emalje" (whats the englist word?)

The cross is named Dagmarkors (Dagmarcross) the queens name was Dagmar and she came from Böhmen before ske became queen of Denmark. and burried in the cachedral in Ringsted.

This is a typical Etruscan Revival cross, very nice, with typical touches such as the granulation along the circumference. Dates from the mid-Victorian era, although country of origin is not determinable without any marks.

Hose-- emalje - enamel
