Here is an unknown coin silver 8 1/2" serving spoon, the only mark is "COIN" on the reverse behind the bowl. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi, your lovely piece is in the Crete pattern by Knowles & Ladd of Rhode Island c1864-1875. Hope that helps
Re: Unknown Coin Silver 8.5" Spoon
Thank you so much -- how on earth did you know that? There are no markings except for "COIN".

Hi again. Sorry for the delayed response. There is a site, sterlingsilverfashions. I knew roughly what era it was from and checked the patterns for the most likely makers until I found yours. Very useful free site for American silver
Re: Unknown Coin Silver 8.5" Spoon
There are Knowles patterns on this site as well. Click on the Knowles link in American marks.

Sorry no disrespect to 925-1000. It's the best. I just use the other site for American flatware patterns 1st because it undeniably has the largest selection.
