Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

Thanks for sharing this with us. Can you tell us who the maker is?

Hi Fernando,

A friend informs me it’s a Rio de Janeiro mark from XIX century — the maker’s mark is attributed to Francisco Duarte Graça.

Here is a similar example, this time in the form of a toothpick holder:

The image text (translated): Toothpicks holder ‘Atlas’, Mark of Patrício Ricardo Freire, commercial of gold, silver and brilliants, Goldsmith Street 85 [in Rio de Janeiro] and Francisco de Souza Barboza, silversmith, Street of St. Peter 113 [in Rio de Janeiro]. (1855)
