Peruvian? Panel Bracelet - Need help please

Post by Brianshny »

I have a 4 panel bracelet with some type of Inca Gods on it with several markings. The number 006, Industria, Peruvian and a desgin with what looks like ES. Any information would be great as I have looked all over the intenet and can only find similar bracelets with different designs but do look alike. I'm curious if anyone knows the age of this. Thank you in advance!

The number 006 is actually an upside down 900 which indicates 900/1000 parts pure silver, also known as coin silver, as I have seen this on a few other Industria Peruana pieces.

Peru opened up to the tourist trade after the "discovery" of Macchu Picchu in 1911 by Western explorers. Actually, there were people farming among the ruins and the locals did know all about it, its just no Westerner had ever asked about it before.

All history aside, I think your bracelet is probably 1960s or 1970s, and all of the pieces I have ever seen are definitely second-half-of-the-20th-century types of pieces.
