cuff bracelet 925 Peru

Post by bruce0367 »

This silver cuff bracelet, allegedly of Quechua design, was acquired by my father, circa 1948, while in Brazil. I am not aware of him ever traveling outside of Brazil during that time. But it does seem to have originated in Peru. As shown in the photos, the front has a Tapada veiled woman; the left side shows the Peru National Coat of Arms; the right side has the Lima, Peru, coat of arms. The only part of the mark that is legible to me is “925 PERU.” My father believed it was from the colonial period, but I have my doubts. Hoping someone can provide further insight as to the true origins of this piece, including the likely time period when it was made.
