Storing silver with string tags

Post by Kit »

I am tired of running to the books to decode the information on my English silver and would like to tag each piece with a string label before I wrap it and put it away. Does the string cause any damage to the silver? The tags are the common variety found in any office supply store.

I have been using them for years, never had an issue.

remember that rubber set a mark that cannot be removed.
I know that you are thinking of a cotton strung.

Had rubber in mind. I mean, who would think about it - until the results showed up? Likewise with string - didn't want an unpleasant surprise. Am relieved. Thank you both. Kit

String + OK, Rubber bands = really bad results. I have only ever seen the tags with strings (Cotton?).
