Cleaning with Chalk slurry

Post by Dael69 »

Hello,

I am about to clean a set of coffee cups and I read here about Chalk slurry + non ionic soap as main cleaners. My concern is about the chalk slurry, I dont want to make a big mistake with the coffee set and I want to be sure what "Chalk" means.

I assume Chalk is calcium carbonate powder CaCO3. I am right or I was about to make a big mistake?

Very thanks!

Hi Dael,

Silver polish contains paste of very fine precipitated chalk.

See our topics about silver care. I would use warm soap water to clean the cups, a little silver polish and a final clean with warm soap water. Dry the cups with a kitchen towel. For future polishing I use a special impregnated silver cloth for silver care only.

Best,

Oel.
