Bearing Gorham's Chicken Little date symbol for 1890. Measuring 3" ext. height, holding 1/4 Pints = 4 ounces. Squared-off base (aka Diamond). Bears number 06582.
1st Ref: Baker's RailRoad Collectibles 4th Ed....."Teapot-3/4 pt., diamond shaped bottom, long spout, hg'd disc lid, round handle, BM - NO.PAC.R.R., Gorham Co. 06582, ca. 1890, (rare)......" [Note 3/4 Pints = 12 ounces, no photos published]
2nd Ref: Railroad Commissary....RSN-8991..."cream pitcher" 4 5/8", 1/2 Pints = 8 ounces, Gorham Co. number 06583, same date symbol for 1890, also marked NO.PAC.R.R.. [Note..this is shown in photos to match the same design as the 1/4 pts. sample.]
Bearing in mind that some items similar to this might be labled as "syrup pitchers", what do all these amount to? Parts of a set? Is this small one a creamer?
