Henry Herbert Friend entered his marks, 'H.H.F' incuse and 'HHF' contained in an oblong punch, with the Birmingham Assay Office in August 1901 and March 1909 respectively.

The business of William Redfern Deykin and Walter Andrew Harrison was the continuation of the firm of Deykin & Sons. The business was restyled to Deykin & Harrison in 1895. The partners were later joined by William Cotterill Deykin (b.5-11-1867) and Francis John Stanford Griffin. The firm was converted into a limited liability company in 1907.

Deykin & Harrison were noted as exhibitors at the British Industries Fairs of 1915 and 1920.


P. W. Harrison, of Deykin & Harrison, Ltd., Birmingham and London, Eng., called on the trade in Montreal during the past week. Upon leaving the city he went to Toronto, en route for the west. He will return to England via New York.

NOTICE is hereby given that the creditors of the above named Company are required, on or before the 15th day of July, 1937 to send in their names and addresses, with particulars of their debts or claims, and the names and addresses of their Solicitors (if any), to the undersigned Percival Walter Harrison of 49 Alderbrook Road, Solihull, Birmingham the Liquidator of the said Company, and, if so required by notice in writing by the said Liquidator, are, by their Solicitors or personally, to come in and prove their said debts or claims at such time and place as shall be specified in such notice, or in default thereof they will be excluded from the benefit of any distribution made before such debts are proved.—Dated this 17th day of June, 1937.

SUBSTITUTE FOR A SIXPENCE

At Birmingham William Swift (21), silver-smith, living in Stafford-street, was charged with having made and uttered a silver disc, and falsely represented it to be a sixpence. The prisoner passed a disc upon an omnibus conductor, and when arrested two other discs, a quantity of scrap silver, a pair of compasses, and a file were found in his possession. He was remanded in order that the Mint authorities might be communicated with.
