The jewelry store of James Tindale & Son, Iroquois, Ont., was broken into on the night of May 28 and a considerable quantity of jewelry was taken. The thieves entered by a back window and removed the fastenings from the front door before commencing operations. Two jewelry trays were found in a yard near the premises, but no further trace of the criminals has yet been discovered.

The Canadian Association of Jobbers gave their first annual banquet on January 17th in the Queen’s hotel, Toronto, Ontario. Mr. T. H. Lee presided, and the guests were principally the members of the association from the eastern section of Canada. The banquet was made more enjoyable by witty speeches and good music.

Montreal
The firm of Weinrobe & Blackson, of Montreal, has been dissolved. They were large dealers in American watches, carrying them into the lumber camps of the country, and at the same time running a store in Montreal. Mr. Blackson now has the store in hand and Mr. Weinrobe the traveling routes.

Lilian Davison, the ten year old daughter of the late M. A. Davison, of the firm of Davison & Felters, Halifax,, died of diphtheria on Sunday, February 8. Thus in the course of a few weeks Mrs. Davison has lost her husband and child.

Charles Walker, proprietor of a Bay Street (Toronto) hotel, was stabbed in the breast Wednesday night by Wm. Mallon, jeweler, whom he was endeavouring to eject from his house. The wound was inflicting with a jackknife, and is considered dangerous.

The jewelry store of Henry Bolan, Masham, Ont., was entered a few nights ago and goods amounting to the value of $90 taken. A window in the shop was first tried unsuccessfully. The burglars then went down to the cellar and pried one of the doors open, gaining entrance by this means.
