NOVEL SELF-FILLING FOUNTAIN PEN
The history of the fountain pen covers nearly half a century. The early pens were crude and gave endless trouble, but with all their defects they were so convenient that their use increased rapidly until today almost every one who can write carries and uses a fountain pen. For many years all fountain pens had to be taken apart and filled with a medicine dropper. But this is no longer necessary.
The Corona Pen Company, 6216 Dorchester Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, has developed and is placing on the market a self-filling pen which they state can be simply operated because of the fewness of parts.
The makers further state that when closed the pen point is an airtight protecting chamber preventing leaks. The pen point itself is of 14 K gold with an iridium tip and may be obtained for hard, medium or easy writing and in any style from a fine point to a broad stub pen.
Beside the shell of the pen only four parts are included; the large seamless ink reservoir, the ink reservoir compressor, the cam and the filling knob. A quarter turn of the grooved knob either to the right or the left completely empties the ink reservoir expelling all the air or ink; another quarter turn releases the reservoir and allows it to fill itself completely with ink.
The Corona pen is finished either plain or chased as desired. Wide gold-filled bands, special gold, gold-plated or sterling mountings can also be furnished.

Established in c.1922 by Samuel V. Corona, Herman G. Stubbendeck, Eldon H. Damrow, and James Pitt. Thought to have gone out of business in 1929.
