"H Hall Silver"

Here is a interesting little thing, from the days before the Trades Descriptions Act. This is a medal or fob made from Walker & Hall’s “nickle silver” alloy, marketed under the name of “H Hall” Silver”. Later to be re-branded “Oruba” I am assuming that these fobs were given away as a marketing tool, which I am sure would be very effective, as when freshly polished it is a really convincing imitation of sterling silver.
