NEW CORPORATIONS

E. G. Webster & Son, Brooklyn, N. Y., with capital stock of $300,000, will make silverware and other metals. The directors are John C. Grier, Robt. H. Stevenson and William Mischler, Brooklvn.

Graff, Washburne & Dunn of New York City, manufacturing silversmiths, have won their suit against E. G. Webster & Son of Brooklyn, N.Y., also manufacturers of sterling goods, for design infringement.

NO BAIL FOR GIBBONS

The Alleged "Palmer" of Jewelry Held for Examination


John Gibbons, who was arrested yesterday afternoon on Maiden lane, after having robbed several Jewelry houses by palming and pocketing the goods shown him by salesmen, was arraigned today at the Tombs' Police Court.

He looked anything but the thief he Is charged with being. Present In court were H. A. Bliss, manager of the Gorham Manufacturing Company, at 23 Maiden lane, and representatives of E. G. Webster & Co. and other silverware and Jewelry houses, who claim to have been victimized by the prisoner.

Gibbons was arrested at the instigation of Mr. Bliss, who charged him with stealing goods to the value of $20.

He pleaded not guilty, and demanded an examination be given be given until Tuesday to prepare his defense. Bail was fixed at $1,000, and having no bondsmen he was committed to the Tombs.

E. G. Webster & Son are putting a new front to their store, 10 Maiden Lane. The new show windows when completed, will be among the largest single windows in the Lane, as they measure about 7 x 10 feet.

G. A. Webster and C. F. Coats left Saturday on a two weeks' visit to the factories of E. G. Webster & Son and A. F. Towle & Son Co., for whom G. A. Webster is the western representative.

DETROIT

R. P. Walsh, representing E. G. Webster & Son, R. Wallace & Sons Mfg. Co. and C. Rogers & Bros., was in Portland, was in Ore., last week, while making a circuit of the northwest. His headquarters are in San Francisco.
