The Silverworks Museum--Florence
Covering twenty-five rooms the museum occupies the left wing of Pitti Palace, added during the 17th Century to the original15th Century core.
The rooms on the ground floor of Palazzo Pitti, originally the grand ducal summer apartments, and the mezzanine rooms were chosen in 1861 as the location of the Silver Museum, which collects various kinds of precious objects (gems, cameos, semi-precicus stones, ivory, jewels, silver....) to document the sumptuous life of the princes and the collections owned by the dynasties that ruled Tuscany, with specific attention to the Medici and Lorraine families.

Admittance time. Weekdays: January, February, November and December: 8.15 am—4.30 pm; March : 8.15 am—5.30 pm / closing time one hour later during E.U. summer time April, May, September, October: 8.15 am— 6.30 pm / closing time one hour earlier during E.U. summer time; June, July and August: 8.15—7.30 pm; the ticket office closes 30 minutes before the museum closing time.
Holidays: January, February, November and December: 8.15 am—4.30 pm; March : 8.15 am—5.30 pm / closing time one hour later during E.U. summer time April, May, September, October: 8.15 am—6.30 pm / closing time one hour earlier during E.U. summer time; June, July and August: 8.15—7.30 pm; the ticket office closes 30 minutes before the museum closing time.
