The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Museum - Stirling

Post by dognose »

The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Museum
The Castle,
Stirling,
FK8 1EH
Scotland, UK

Stirling Castle, Royal Palace of the Stuart Kings, has been the home of The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders (Princess Louise’s) since 1881 and contains many objects of regimental interest.
However, it was not until 1988 that a museum was opened in the King’s Old Building of the Castle to display these objects; and, perhaps more importantly, to relate the illustrious history of the Regiment and the many personal stories of the officers, soldiers and their families.
The story of the Regiment and wider regimental family, is told using a unique and fascinating collection, which includes silver and medals.

Opening Times
Easter to 30th September: 9.30 am — 5.00 pm
1st October to Easter: 10.00 am — 4.15 pm

The Museum is open throughout the year, apart from two weeks over Christmas and New Year. If you are considering visiting the Museum during late December or early January, please contact the museum to confirm the exact dates.
