The museum was originally a private residence built by Charles Beamish in 1845 on land purchased from the Duke of Devonshire. The grounds of the house were the location of the Cork International Exhibition of 1902/03.

The museum has a fine display of Cork and other silver, including five pieces of Cork Republican Silver of which there are thought to be only about sixty to eighty pieces ever made. (See: Cork Republican Silver)

Opening Hours: 11.00 a.m. — 1 p.m. & 2.15 p.m. — 4.00 p.m.

Admission: Free
