Hi,
According to A. Ivanov, there were four silversmiths with this name (excluding two in 17th century).
Three workd in Moscow, one in Petersburg.
None of them is recorded to have moved.
This is what I can tell based on the refernce above.

The reason I ask is because I have a bracelet with cyrillic FI initials and the St Petersburg city mark

To me too it looks more like ФК. This kind of town mark was used in St Petersburg 1825~1876. There is a to name unknown master ФК in St.P 1817-1827. However, I don't think it is him. Why does it read Kavkas on it? It is quite far away from St.P. Anyway, the ring is made before 1882.

That might tie in with this St Petersburg city stamp which was used between 1818-1864.
