Unusual sugar tongs
Unusual sugar tongs
Hi -
This cutlery pattern, created by the German company Koch & Bergfeld, was often exported both to the Balticum, Poland and to Russia - but it was also produced and distributed by local companies. License or copy?
Here sugar tongs with extraordinary mechanics - in this form never seen. This time from Warsaw.

@Goldstein
Nothing prohibits me from co-operate in the future, you have the ball.
Peace!
Nonetheless, here some a bit unconventional sugar tongs with hinges and springs from my not so small collection of sugar tongs, sugar sifters and tea strainers...;-))))
This filigree tong is made by Wilhelm Porthan in Viborg, Finland 1885 (Viborg was lost 1945 in WWII to the Soviet Union).
This is made by Gustaf Adolf Ferdinad Timper in Helsinki, Finland 1897.
This is made by Gustaf Wikström in Gothenburg, Sweden 1898
This is made by Victor Nuber 1893-1903 in Vienna, Austro-Hungary
Have a ball!
PS. Admin, I'm not asking anything just showing...

Hi -
Pretty monstrosities - I sometimes think some of the early sugar tongues were made by factories for torture tools. Here are some of Malcz / Warsaw - one is afraid to take them in your hands ....

@Goldstein
Thanks, I have tried to pick only "odd pieces" not ordinary ones. Moreover, some of what is called a "sugar tong" is not necessarily meant for sugar but for dates. That goes especially for some those smaller tongs with claws. Dates are rather sticky and were very popular in the 19th century.
I know that this is the Russian site but maybe our admin. allows me one more exception.
This is a Finnish specialty, what is it?
A hint: It is not a "ladle"! Lenght ~12cm, 4½" only.
...maybe it should be moved to "Mystery objects"?

This is a Finnish specialty, what is it?
Only the first thing that comes to mind is an object for a sauna.
