Please help to identify Russian mark on a tea glass holder

Post by Johanna2018 »

Hi, I am posting to you experts, because my uncle asked me to:
He owns a silver tea glass holder with a Russian mark on it. We have tried to identify it with the help of this forum and others, but we are not sure about the manufacturer. Could you please help us to identify the hallmark?
Thank you so much in advance
Johanna

Hi Johanna!

The tea glass holder is unfortunately not authentic Russian silver, the marks are imitating the very well known silver smith house of Gratchev but as said the mark is not authentic.

Hi Johanna -

unfortunately the marks and the object are a fake as mentioned by Juke.
Just to compare why the marks are faked - here 2 authentic marks:

Hi Juke, hi Goldstein,

thank you very much for your reply. It's a pity that it's a fake but good to know!

Thank you for sharing your experience.
