1891 desk item unknown maker

Post by Vipotti »

This silver desk item with gold details has clear assay mark - Ivan Vonifatiyevich Yevstigneyev and year as mentioned is 1891. Makers mark is quite clear too but all the search I made to find out who he is has ended to dead end. There must be someone who knows, who ARC (or AHC) is.

Hi,
Welcome to the forum.
The maker`s mark could be Alexander N. Sokolov (Александр H. Соколов - AHC).
On the other hand I`m very suspicious about the authenticity of the item itself.
Are there more marks on the figurine ? It was not cast as a single piece, but the base was attached, so there should be marks on the figurine, too.
Imperial coat of arms are senseless here.
Let`s wait for more opinions.

Thanks AG2012 and Goldstein

You were right, there is marks on top part. Have to clean it up to see if there is more 'cause it's made out of three parts.

Hi Yassine36 and welcome to the forum.

Reporting a topic is not a correct way of using this forum and I have deleted your report. If you wish to know or share something related to your AHC piece please start a new topic and embed pictures of your piece into your post.
