Hi madej -

You should finally start your own research - you have all the necessary documents! Why ask the forum everytime?

Wellknown firm from St. Petersburg - but he made no cigarette cases - here he is just the seller. Looks like he overstamped the maker/etc - but the photo is not clear....

Hi Goldstein
Maybe I did not ask the question badly, I mean if the hallmark is original.

Hi madej -

It just seems too complicated to understand: sharp photos of the object and photos of all existing marks and stamps ....

Hi madej -

No townmark - no name. When will you understand that?

Hi.
One more thing.
I would like to ask you for advice.
I have the opportunity to buy one of these samorodok cigarette case, both at very similar price. The first one i asked(Gordon) weights 184g,while the one below 102 g.Which in your opinion is better? Iam curious about your opinion.

Not necessarely - Gordon was a seller and could buy what and from where he wanted. He bought a finished product - and he just marked it with his name.
By the way there is no MC in St. Petersburg - so I suppose it is one of the many MC´s from Moscow. If you do not know the townmark we will never now for sure.

The second cigarette case is the better one (quality and conservation status). Townmark St. Petersburg, maker ГK is unknown to me.

Again: If you want precise answers, you should give precise informations! In addition, meaningful photos are necessary. But I've already told you that several times in vain. This is a forum with some very knowledgeable specialists and no advice show for bored housewives ........

Hi,
Fourteen MC silversmiths in PL index.
As Goldstein said, town is needed.
The rule of thumb, heavy gauge is better.

I'm not surprised by your arrogance, really :)
I do not think that Gordon, as a valued seller, bought from Moscow an average object of an average silversmith who could have bought in St. Petersburg equally well, but maybe. I wrote to the seller for information on the letter on the kokoschnik , then everything will be clear. And the fact that you do not know the MC silversmith from St. Petersburg does not mean that it was not there. Yes or no?

Hi ag2012
Is it better to buy a lighter but better quality and better condition? I think that's because we do not buy silver for scrap.

Yes,the quality comes first, but I was referring to the situation when all parameters are equal, then heavier is better.

AG2012

Yes, of course, I agree in 100%
The second cigarette case seems to also is a better choice because of the quality
