Another piece of Danish mid-19th century silver

Post by louisianagrey »

This is a teaspoon belonging to my great-grandparents. Unfortunately it's the only one I've got, so I can't find a more legible example. I can't read the date under the three towers, but it would have been prior to 1869. The mark at the opposite end, quite worn, is Simon Groth, I think. Does anybody recognise the name in the middle?

marks from left to right: 1.) Jens Sisgaard 1932-1960 2.) maker, sorry but for me unreadible 3.) mark of the city of Kobenhavn for 1943
For me the little spoon is mid 20th, much used, and typical design for the time of 1943...

A minor correction: The assayer's name is Johannes Siggaard not Jens Sigsgaard, he is a writer. This is a common mistake.
