I have this large Swedish Kings pattern basting spoon dated 1859 (E5) by A.Rothman who I cannot find reference to. The town mark I don’t recognise either? Any help to identify would be great.

Re: Large basting spoon, help needed with marks
Hi Matt,
The town of origin identification symbol to me appears to be an I(damaged) for Lycksele.

Hi,
I find an Anders Rothman working in Örebro at this time (1859).

Yes, you are right Trev, my mistake I thought it to be an I in a round shield, but actually an O for Örebro .

Yes it is Anders Rothman in Örebro 1852-1870. Actually there are two Anders Rothmans in Örebro: Anders Rothman the older -1826-1833(34) who is the father of the first mentioned Anders R. Anyway, the spoon is made by the son.
Re: Large basting spoon, help needed with marks
Thankyou so much everyone for the information, really good to know.
If anyone’s an expert or has a good Norwegian source of marks please get in touch as I still have a few marks I cannot find (posts are here on the forum)
