British (London) small trinket box, unidentified maker

Dear all,

I *think* I've narrowed down the hallmarks on this, but just can't identify the Maker. This is the first time I've tried to do this though, so may have wrongly identified London - but I *think* I'm right. It looks like the mark next to the silver standard mark is the uncrowned leopard, and then the next mark, the date letter, looks like it's a capital 'D' with a flourish - which I *think* dates it as being 1978, as per the wealth of resources on this site :-)

I'm sure the maker's mark looks like 'GKH' (although in the photo, the 'H' looks more like an 'N'), which I can't seem to identify, even though on this site the list of makers seems very comprehensive.

On the inside of the hinged lid are the silver standard mark and the uncrowned leopard again - but on the inside of the lid, there is no date mark nor maker's mark.

Can anyone help with any more information?

Many thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

Just to confirm your assessment, London, 1978.

Hopefully another member can identify the maker.

Trev.

The London Assay office is pretty helpful when it comes to identifying these modern marks, you should try them.
