I think this is an SW mark for the maker Starling Wilford.

This mark is not shown by Grimwade so may have been recorded in the missing 1739-1758 Smallworkers' Register. I note that all of Starling Wilford's marks which Grimwade shows are SW or WI in Roman letters not the Gothic style as here so it may be a bit premature to attribute this mark to him.

I fear it must remain "unknown", at least for now.
