AA / WS??

Post by RGLUI »

This is a double maker mark that does not appear to be in Grimwade or online. It is from a goblet created in London in 1829.
AA over WS in a square with clipped corners. https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipN ... dyOW5OQkh3

Can anyone on the forum please help?

Maybe you're struggling with embedding the images?

The maker's mark is indeed recorded by Grimwade, it's RA/WS - Richard William Atkins & William Nathaniel Somersall.

Grimwade No 2261 (page 164) marks registered 1824, 1825 and 1830 as plateworker.

Thank you! For both the assistance with my image struggle and the mark. It's hard to find something when you start with thr wrong letter.

Much appreciated and happy new year!
