Thomas & William Chawner?

Post by juantotree »

Hi

I am assuming this is a mis-struck Thomas & William Chawner makers mark, The cross shape of the punch however looks a bit different to those I have seen before, which have been the same as the one displayed on Phil's site. Any thoughts appreciated.

Many Thanks
Martin

It certainly look like Grimwade No 3869 (page 274 -as an unregistered mark ) which he attributes to Thomas and William Chawner. Grimwades example had a 1763 date and, significantly was also on a gravy spoon
