Silver Shield

Post by JanGroen »

Good evening
I have obtained this object from an online auction. It is 25cm long, 9cm high and weighs 78 grams. it has holes in it and must have been nailed to a wooden shield at one stage.
Is this the mark for Joseph Gloster Ltd 1927? Any other information will be welcome

I agree with maker and date. Can't quite read the second word (lower left) - but seems to say "Champion" "?" "Shield". Perhaps for rugby or similar?

Good day
Yes it reads THE Champion Shield. Mark seems double struck.
