Small picture frame

Post by JanGroen »

Good Afternoon
I have this small frame. It is about 6cm in diameter and were made in 1931. What wood would it be made of? Would Framecraft be original to the piece?
The mark seems to be that of Sanders & Mackenzie but it seems like its miss struck.

Hi Jannie,

Yes, Sanders & Mackenzie, Birmingham, 1931:

I would think the wood to be some variety of mahogany.

Thank you Trev. It is a very simple, little frame but I like these objects where they mix in other materials.
Now have to find something to display in it.
